Gold Nose Studs
Is it ok to use gold plated nose studs?
My friend bought me some nose studs, and they are gold plated, the one i have in my nose now is 14kt gold not plated at all, but the diamond in the stud keeps falling out, i keep gluing it back in there so i dont have to go buy a new one cuz it costed $14 and i cant keep buying new 14kt gold nose studs everytime the diamond falls out.
So is it safe to wear GOLD PLATED ones?
I know there is one you cant wear because it will leave a permanent dark mark on your nose, it may be silver but im not sure.
And will the gold plated stuff fade away?

It’s not as good as 14k or 18k gold, and it’s not near as good as implant grade metals. Anything plated has a chance of chipping or fading, and that’s a higher risk with body jewelry compared to jewelry you don’t wear inside your skin. If you’re tough it will probably be fine, but if you have sensitive piercings your skin might hate it.
If the “diamond” keeps falling out, then buy better jewelry. Look for something bezel set, where the stone is kept in by the lip of the jewelry, not glued in. Titanium is a better piercing metal than any gold, and you can even get it in yellow if you feel gold’s your color. For something that’s $14, the stone shouldn’t be glued in, I don’t care if it is 14k gold. That’s just cheap.
