What’s this red bump in my ear?
I stretched my lobes from a 0 to a 00 about a month ago, and everything has been great so far, or so I thought. I took my right eyelet out this evening to give my lobe a cleaning and I noticed a gross-looking red bump inside my lobe. When I went to clean the hole, the bump burst open and started bleeding. I got it to stop bleeding, finished cleaning the area, and put the eyelet back in. There is no outer swelling, the lobe doesn’t hurt, and there is zero visible redness. I already know how to care for stretched lobes and what to avoid doing; I am just wondering what the heck this thing was and if anyone else has had this happen. By the way, the eyelets are surgical steel, so an allergic reaction is definitely not the cause.
a little collection of blood and white blood cells (puss) probably caused by stretching your lobe- Just keep an eye on it to make sure you don’t have any signs of infection- redness, swelling, heat, more drainage etc. A little infection on your ear can lead to serious problems— I almost lost the top of my ear due to an infection that turned into cellulitis. It earned me antibiotics and lost me my piercing. Take care.
